Salami said he was traveling with his brother on the Lagos road on Monday evening when the incident occurred, according to an Instagram post.

When the filmmaker was stalled in traffic, four men on a motorcycle approached his car and waved a gun in his face, according to the filmmaker.

Salami’s car glass was allegedly damaged by the armed thieves after he refused to lower them and threatened to shoot his younger brother if he did not obey.

The bandits wanted their phones, which they gave over one of them, Salami added, his voice shaking.

However, while trying to disconnect the second phone for the robbers, some onlookers observed the action and rushed to the aid of the filmmaker.

Salami said the robbers hopped on their motorbikes and fled the scene.
