On the Accra-Nsawam highway, an Okada rider believed to be in his mid-20s was stabbed to death at Satellite Junction.
Cornelius Tamakloe, the dead, was last seen around 10:00 p.m. on Sunday.
His lifeless body was discovered along the roadside on Monday morning, with a large slash in the upper half of his left arm.
He was attacked amid a misunderstanding at a pub where he had gone to see the Euro 2020 final, according to witnesses.
“We had been hunting for him all morning until we were notified that his body had been recovered on the road,” his sister, Enyo Tamakloe, told FoxpoolNews. So we came to identify the body, and it turned out to be his.”
Some Okada riders who contacted to FoxpoolNews said they knew him and had just spoken to him during the England-Italy final the night before.
“We even cracked a joke together. One of them added, “It’s incredibly surprising to find now that he’s been stabbed to death.”
The police have launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death, and his body has been taken to the police mortuary for an autopsy and preservation.
